The port commissioned Ecocean to carry out an ecological restoration project involving the installation of artificial nurseries on its docks, pontoons, and dikes.

In response to the challenges of ecological restoration and raising public awareness in the port, Ecocean has launched a project that combines biodiversity restoration with public engagement. The facilities help recreate habitats for aquatic species while providing educational resources to help visitors discover and understand the port’s ecosystems.

  • 15 Biohut® Pontoons, 8 Biohut® Docks, 10 Biohut® Dikes, and 4 Mini Biohut® units have been installed, including new spherical nurseries that blend more harmoniously with the environment.
  • Information signs have been installed near the harbor master’s office and in front of the Biohut® units to inform and educate users and tourists.
    A Captain Game, an environmental scavenger hunt, was adapted into three versions (two on foot, one by bike) to allow the public to learn about biodiversity issues in the port and its connectivity with the city.
  • Awareness-raising events were also organized for schools and the public.
